19 Months!

Wow, I can't believe Zach is already 19 months old! Time is flying!

At his 18 month check up he weighed 24 pounds even (25th percentile), was 32.8 inches tall (50th - 75th percentile), and his head was 19 inches around (50th - 75th percentile).

It has been hard without Matt around, but Zach keeps me pretty busy. We have gone to San Diego with my sister and her family (where Zach fell in love with Elmo!), gone to the zoo a couple of times, and gone to a pumpkin patch. We also got out Zach's bike and got him a helmet to try to learn how to ride. He is so excited about that!

As for updates on Zach: he is potty trained except for when he is sleeping! He has his top I teeth now, so we are just waiting for the bottom two to come in and then hopefully will have a break from teething for a while. He is a very fun little guy who loves to go on walks around the neighborhood (most of the time we have to stop at the park!). He loves watching or playing any kind of sports; is still ambidextrous, but seems to be favoring his left hand and foot a bit more; can use utensils at the table; is starting to throw the tantrums on the floor with the kicking and screaming (yippee!); loves Elmo and constantly asks to watch him on the TV; and surprises me everyday at how much he knows and picks up on!

Here is a montage of videos. It is less than a minute, and very cute. The first clip is of him pushing the gas pedal of his Thomas the Train, the second is very poor quality (from my cell phone!) of him bouncing down the 'hot dog' at My Gym with Nana's assistance, the third one is also from my cell phone of him clapping during a 'Pet's Rule' show at Sea World, the forth one is of him and Mama playing catch, and the last one is of him riding his bike! Enjoy!!

15 Months (Now Almost 17!)

Wow does time fly! I have been meaning to update this for a while, and haven't gotten around to it. Zach's statistics at his 15 Month Check-Up are as follows: 22 pounds 9 ounces (25th percentile), 31.3 inches long (50th - 75th pecentile), and his head is 18.8 inches around (50th - 75th percentile). He is losing his belly since he is always running everywhere!

We have had a busy couple of months, traveling to see family and friends. First was going to Norfolk to see Dad for 2 weeks, then to Green Valley to see Laura's friends Tanya and Jason. Our nephew and Zach's cousin, Daniel Wayne McCoy, was born June 25th. Over July 4th we went to a lake in Colorado to see some very close friends (they were our neighbors for 20+ years growing up!) and also stopped in Farmington, Purgatory, Silverton and Grand Junction. Needless to say, we got in a lot of visiting and took a lot of pictures!

July 18th - Zach's Nanu made him some step stools so that he could wash his hands and brush his teeth all by himself. Thanks Nanu!!

July 13th - Nana, Nanu and Zach

July 11th - Zach sure had a great time with his Grandpa!

July 10th - Zach figured out pretty quickly how to ride the tricycle (he put his feet up and let Grandpa pull/push him!)

July 10th - We got to see Granny and Poppop again! Thanks again for making it happen in Grand Junction, we were very excited to see you! We had a great time going to Palisade and looking at all the orchards, plus the fruit was so good!

July 9th - Zach hopped on Grandpa's ATV and decided he was going for a ride, so he was telling me bye

July 9th - He quickly found a flaw in his plan when he couldn't figure out how to start it!

July 7th - We stopped to see Grandma and Grandpa in Silverton

July 7th - Zach had a good time throwing rocks into the river with Grandpa

July 6th - Zach and his cousins Corey and Stephan had a great time camping, 4 wheeling, and just playing outside!

July 5th - Zach and his future wife Gwen (Sarah's daughter). Sarah and I grew up next to each other...for 18 years! Sarah is 3 months older than Laura, and Gwen is 3 months older than Zach! We have decided that it would be perfect for them to get married so we really could be family! :)

July 4th - Zach in our tent during his first camping trip

July 4th - At the lake with Wade, Gwen, Sarah, and the whole Sanburg family! Zach had an ok time there, but there were so many new people and the whole experience just overwhelmed him so we ended up leaving earlier than we had intended. It was so great to get to see my other family that I haven't seen in years! Thanks again for everything guys!

June 28th - Zach Pouring Milk (A Favorite Activity at Meal Times Lately)

June 25th - Zach playing his new drum set (I had to get him his own since his Dad is gone and the Rock Band set of drums got put away) Zach, Jasmine and Sydney all love this drum set as it has demo mode where they can push a button and walk away and there is still noise! This function also makes me wonder why I bought the set?? ;)

June 25th - Zach's first attempt at holding cousin Daniel, and a big part of why I am almost convinced that I do not want to have another child!

June 25th - Laura and nephew Daniel

June 24th - Zach loves to jump in to pools. He is a little dare devil!

June 22nd - We set up a slip and slide and Zach loved it (after a few times of course, he hated it at first!)

June 20th - Zach found some boots I bought him a long time ago, and wanted to wear them around. Little did he know, it was a little difficult to walk in them!

June 18th - Zach, Laura and Sydney

June 17th - Laura, Zach and good friend Tanya in Green Valley, AZ

June 5th - Boo has started letting Zach pet him, and amazingly she doesn't seem to mind him pulling her tail too much!

June 5th - Poor Molli gets the brunt of Zach's attacks since she is bigger and he apparently thinks she can handle it!

June 1st - Nana and Zach

May 23rd - Zach and Matt at the beach. This kid has already been to Canada and to the Pacific and Atlantic coasts! Next is Mexico!!!

May 18th - Zach and Matt at a lake at Mount Trashmore in Virginia. Yes, it really is a mountain made over trash...it doesn't smell or anything, and Zach had a blast running all around

May 6th - Zach, Nanu, Jasmine, Nana and Sydney

We got some pictures done on May 24th. Here are some of our favorites!

Yes, he really is throwing the ball at the photographer! She was able to get the shot and duck before getting hit though! ;)

Swimming!

Zach is almost done with his 4 weeks of survival swimming lessons. He is doing great! The teacher was so excited that he was floating within a week. He is not yet able to do the swimming part of the lessons as he is not old enough, but he has the floating down, and would survive if he ever fell into water! It is very exciting. Today she had him go into the water in pants and shoes and a jacket to simulate real life circumstances.

The lessons he is taking are called ISR - Infant Swimming Resource if you are interested in more information. Enjoy the video! :)

Zach was having a great time sliding to his Nana tonight at the park, and I just happened to catch some of it on video. Enjoy! :)

Laughter!

Zach was laughing at Sydney and Jasmine making noises, I thought it was adorable and wanted to share! :)
